There are many things to consider in a new employer. Here’s a brief summary of the benefits the City of Temecula offers their regular employees.
Salary All positions at the City of Temecula have a 6-step salary range. There is a one (1) year probationary period and annual increases are based on a merit evaluation. City employees pay the Medicare portion only of social security taxes and do not pay state disability taxes.
Comprehensive Annual Leave Employees earn Comprehensive Annual Leave from their date of hire.

Annual leave accrual: annual leave will be earned on a prorated rate each pay period.
City Holidays Employees receive eleven (11) City holidays + one (1) floating holiday annually.
Section 125 Cafeteria Plan The City contributes a $850 allotment per month for benefit utilization. Mandatory benefits, deducted from the designated allotment, include a $50,000 life insurance policy along with short-term/long-term disability. Under the Cafeteria Plan, employees are offered PERS Health, dental, vision, supplemental disability, and reimbursement accounts for medical/dependent care. Along with this coverage, employees may choose the cash back option, additional life insurance and/or deferred compensation.
Retirement The City offers a retirement plan through CalPERS and both the employee and employer portion are paid for by the City. The current retirement formula is 2.5% @ 55.
