Public Works Maintenance Division

The Maintenance Division within the Public Works Dept. is responsible for maintenance activities ranging from street repair to graffiti removal. 

In 2005 the Public Works Maintenance Team:

    • Maintained 685 miles of public right of way
    • Removed 74,798 square feet of graffiti at a cost of $183,142.75

Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning drainage facilities;
  • Replacing traffic control devices;
  • Removing and pruning trees located in the public right of way;
  • Removing graffiti;
  • Overseeing weed abatement;
  • Stenciling and striping of pavements;
  • Patching potholes and miscellaneous asphalt/ concrete repairs;
  • Fulfilling Service Order requests;
  • Overseeing the annual Slurry Seal, Asphalt/ Concrete Repair, and Miscellaneous Concrete Repair programs;
  • Responding to after-hour call-outs and storm related problems;
  • Supporting special events.
