The Maintenance Division within the Public Works Dept. is responsible for maintenance activities ranging from street repair to graffiti removal.

In 2005 the Public Works Maintenance Team:
- Maintained 685 miles of public right of way
- Removed 74,798 square feet of graffiti at a cost of $183,142.75
|
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning drainage facilities;
- Replacing traffic control devices;
- Removing and pruning trees located in the public right of way;
- Removing graffiti;
- Overseeing weed abatement;
- Stenciling and striping of pavements;
- Patching potholes and miscellaneous asphalt/ concrete repairs;
- Fulfilling Service Order requests;
- Overseeing the annual Slurry Seal, Asphalt/ Concrete Repair, and Miscellaneous Concrete Repair programs;
- Responding to after-hour call-outs and storm related problems;
- Supporting special events.
