The Murrieta/Temecula Dial-A-Ride is a seniors and persons-with-disabilities only, advance-reservation service designed to provide curb-to-curb transportation. Dial-A-Ride travels to and from locations within the cities of Murrieta and Temecula.
Seniors age 60 or over and persons with disabilities may use the Murrieta/Temecula Dial-A-Ride if the beginning and ending points of their desired trip are within the Murrieta/Temecula service area (see map).
Persons certified under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will receive priority scheduling when their trip request is made at least one day in advance.
For more information about the ADA certification process and eligibility requirements, please contact RTA’s Contracted & ADA Operations Department at (951) 684-0850.
How do I use DIAL-A-RIDE?
Call RTA’s Transportation Center at 1-800-795-7887 from one to seven days in advance of your trip to schedule your ride. Reservation requests for same-day service will be accepted only if space is available. Reservation requests for next-day service will close at 6:00 p.m. the night before. ADA passengers requesting priority service must call at least one day in advance to receive priority scheduling.
When you call, please have a pen and paper ready to copy ride information and be prepared to give the following information:
- Your name and phone number
- Pick-up address and request time
- Your appointment time
- Destination address
- Time you wish to return
- If you use mobility aids or equipment
- If anyone will be traveling with you
- If you’re ADA certified
Since Dial-A-Ride is a shared-ride service, the vehicle may make other pick-ups and drop-offs during your trip. Therefore, ride and wait times may vary slightly and Dial-A-Ride may not be able to accommodate everyone at exactly the requested time. Every effort will be made to make your trip as convenient as possible.
What if my return time changes?
If your appointment is running late and you will miss your return trip, please notify RTA’s Transportation Center at (800) 795-7887 as soon as possible. Every effort will be made to reschedule your trip on the first available vehicle in the area.
Same Day Reservations
Requests for same-day reservations cannot be guaranteed and will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Trip Cancellations
If you find that you no longer need the requested trip, please call (951) 684-9863 as soon as possible before your scheduled pick-up time. Prompt, early notification will free up your reserved seat for other RTA passengers needing a ride.
Please note that cancellations made less than one hour before your scheduled ride time will be considered a “no show.”
ADA Intercity
ADA Intercity connection services are available for ADA-certified passengers only.
The ADA Intercity # 7 service is available for ADA passengers traveling to and from a defined area 3/4 of a mile of either side of Route 37 which serves Perris, Sun City, Hemet and Temecula.
To arrange transportation or request a map and brochure, call (800) 795-7887.
The service is based upon a first-come, first-served, advance-reservation basis. We suggest that you schedule your return trip at the same time.
Be Sure of Your Destination: Once your trip is scheduled and you board the vehicle, you may not change your destination. All trips must be scheduled in advance with RTA.
Be Ready: Be prepared to go at least 15 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time. The Dial-A-Ride vehicle may arrive up to 15 minutes before or after your scheduled pick-up time before it is considered late.
If you are not ready within five minutes after the van arrives, you may be marked a “no show” and will have to wait for the next available van.
Exact Fare: Always use exact change. Drivers do not carry change. Your fare can be paid in cash or with an RTA Dial-A-Ride ticket.
Animals: Only service animals are permitted on board. Animals in cages are not permitted to board the vehicle.
Carry-on Packages: Carry-on packages are limited to two per passenger. The packages must be able to be easily carried on board and secured safely. Shopping carts and strollers must be folded up prior to boarding.
Smoking and Eating, etc: Eating, drinking, smoking, loud music, abusive language or conduct, alcohol, drugs or weapons of any kind are not permitted on board the vehicle.
Personal Care Attendant: If your ADA Identification card states that you need to bring an attendant with you to help you with your trip, there is no charge for the attendant.
Driver Communication: To ensure the safety of all passengers, please keep conversations with the driver to a minimum when the vehicle is in motion.
Seatbelts & Passenger Safety: All passengers should remain seated until the vehicle comes to a complete, safe stop. Passengers are encouraged to use the seat belts and other securement devices provided on the vehicle for their safety.
